I found a wonderful article that lists so many habits we should get into that help improve our quality of life. They include meditation, saving 20% of our income, seeking out continual education, get organized, socializing and networking.

How do these help build our self esteem?

Our self esteem can be low for many reasons and every person may have different self defeating habits. Often times those with low self esteem feel like failures. If it’s due to a dead end career perhaps furthering your education can help. Furthering your education can open up new, lofty career opportunities. If you’re constantly worried about paying the bills and keeping a roof over your head saving can help, budgeting, setting yourself up to not live pay check to pay check.

If you feel alone due to social anxieties, even though it may be hard at first, going out and being social can help. It’s hard to fight social anxieties, I know, but often when we do practice we quiet those anxieties. I for the longest time was unable to talk publicly with out shaking, I was so fearful, then I joined Toastmasters, the practice in a warm and comforting environment helped me build my own self confidence.

What can you do today to help improve your quality of life?

Remember you have more control then you may think.
