Motherhood is a busy job. There really is no break, it is more than full time but 24/7. It does not matter if you’re a stay at home mom, if you work, if you have five kids or one. It can be hard to find time for yourself but finding time for yourself is essential to keep you going. How are you going to be able to take care of your family if you are not in the best shape you can be, mentally and physically. That means you NEED to take time for yourself.

Schedule Self-Care

It’s important to make self-care a priority. This means schedule it into your day and make sure you don’t skip over it. Remember, self-care can be as easy as sitting down and enjoying a cup of coffee for five minutes.

Prioritize Activities that Bring you Happiness

Write a list of activities that make you happy. Activities that help you recharge. Utilize that list to make sure you do at least one thing a day that simply makes you happy.

Take Advantage of Early Mornings

It can be hard, especially if you have little ones that wake you throughout the night but waking in the morning before your kids and just taking the time to do something for yourself is a wonderful option.

Prioritize Sleep

Sleep deprivation can be a large cause for postpartum depression. You’ll hear it time and time again, sleep when the baby sleeps, but really just make sure if you have the chance you take it, and sleep. Make sleep a priority.
