How You Can Become a Mompreneur

If you’re a stay at home mom or a working mom your family, understandably comes first, and you may be trying to work, bring in an income, stay home with your children, and have flexibility to build a career or business. For many, like myself, it became important to do something that felt productive, utilized some creativity, and made me feel accomplished. Becoming a mompreneur had an added bonus of bringing in much needed income.

What is a Mompreneur?

A mompreneur is the combination of the words “mom” and “entrepreneur,” someone that is running their own business while being a mom. Often times from home. You are raising your kids while building and running a successful business.

To become a successful mompreneur there are many things you should consider:

Pick a Passion

Finding something that your passionate about helps you to stick to it. Set goals and everything you do should be moving you towards achieving those goals. Do not wait to be inspired, take initiative and build your own motivation.

Find a Support Group

Connecting with other strong, motivated, and successful women will help push you towards your goals and keep your own motivation to keep going. Through Facebook, Linkedin, or other social media groups online you can connect with other like-minded mompreneurs.

Some groups I love to work with are on Facebook:

Find Information Online and Keep Learning

Everyday you should be taking the time to learn something new. It can be about marketing, your industry, best practices, bookkeeping, the possibilities are endless. It is imperative that you stay up to date with business information to be successful. For instance, social media marketing for a business can be ever-changing. One month the algorithms allow you many views with certain practices, the next month that may have all changed.
