A Letter to My Husband on His Birthday

Today is your birthday and although I know you say you’d rather it just pass by, I cannot let that happen completely. Because today I have to make sure you understand how much I appreciate and love you. Every day I try to show you, but I do know life gets away from us far too often.

This upcoming August will mark 8 years together. Before we met, I was not too sure about my path. I knew what I wanted but was not sure I’d get there. Before we met, I had a lot of growth to do, I did a lot of stupid things and was lucky to come out the other side. Though admittedly, I did a lot of stupid things, I do not regret a moment because each lesson I learned shaped the person I am and the person you fell in love with when we met.

Every day you work to build us. You keep going so we have all our bills paid and continue to support my own dreams. We work together to do what’s the best for our children, realizing all three need are unique and need unique and individualized parenting. You are an amazing father. Loving our three beautiful children unconditionally.

You are there for me as I am for you. Supporting each other, pushing each other to grow where we need, and helping each other through our own anxieties, fears, and life struggles. You are my husband, my business partner, and my best friend. I would never want it any other way.

I look forward to many more birthdays together to celebrate you. To remind you each time you’re getting older ? and to have each other for the rest of our lives.

I love you with all my heart and the kids love you with all theirs.

Sarah
